The ceremony will start at 3pm. The drive to the ceremony site takes around 30 minutes from the entrance to Three Mile Road. For those wishing to carpool, there is a small parking lot at then road entrance to leave your cars.
The reception will follow at 5pm at the Rivers Restaurant in downtown Glenwood. Join us for food, dancing, and celebration!
Nestled in the middle Colorado Rockies, Glenwood Springs is an idyllic mountain town. It is also a bit tricky to get there. For airports, you have four options:
Usually the cheapest option, but farthest from Glenwood. It's a 3.5 hour drive from the airport. It might sound daunting, but we'd encourage you to consider it. The drive takes I-70 beautiful mountains and canyons, and has been ranked the most scenic drive in the US multiple times.
A bit more expensive than Denver, but much closer - just over an hour to Glenwood Springs. Direct flights are rare though.
Closest airport to Glenwood Springs, only about 40 minutes away. Depending on where you are coming from (i.e. Chicago), fares can be reasonable.
Aspen is usually the most expensive of the options, but is tied with Vail for closest to Glenwood; it's also around 40 minutes away.
The ceremony will be held on a private ranch in the mountains. The setting is very rustic, and we want to make sure everyone enjoys the experience. There is a short walk across an open field from the parking area to ceremony site, so we'd recommend appropriate footwear (i.e. avoid high-heels).
In addition, there will be no bathrooms available at the ceremony site, so we recommend a pit stop beforehand (don't worry, we'll be keeping things short!). We'll be asking our guests to stand for the ceremony, and limited seating will be available for those needing it.
We've reserved a block of rooms for guests of the wedding at the Hotel Colorado. Located in the heart of Glenwood Springs, and steps away from the famous hot springs, the Hotel Colorado is an enchanting and historic place to stay. Call and ask for the Kirkman - Wasmer wedding to receive the discounted rate.

Glenwood Springs is the perfect destination for a variety of fun outdoor activities. We know many of you will be travelling a good distance to join us, and we'd encourage you to make a trip out it if possible - after all, Glenwood was named the "Most Fun Town in America"! Here's a few places to get you started:
The majestic Colorado River winds it's way through Glenwood Canyon before passing right through the heart of downtown Glenwood Springs. It's a fun and exhilirating whitewater rafting trip, and there are plenty of outfitters with a variety of options. We've gone with BlueSky Adventures before, and it was a great experience.
For those that prefer backpacks to life jackets, the Hanging Lake hiking trail is a beautiful trip right near Glenwood. Climb 1,000 feet over 1.2 miles of trail, and enjoy the pristine mountain lake as your reward. Check out the Forest Service website for more info.
Of course a visit to Glenwood Springs would not be complete without the town's namesake attraction, the hot springs. Open year round, the pool is fed by warm water from the natural hot springs, making it the largest hot mineral spring pool in the world. Have a blast on the waterslides, or bask in the therapy pool and relax.
